Possession Expectations
Spirits' Characteristics:
During possession, the Spirits show certain characteristics. They may choose specific colors, numbers, foods, designs, or drinks that they like. Some talk, some don't. Some talk sometimes and not at other times.
Much documentation exists of African Diaspora Spirit possessions and characteristics of them. Although we have often those Spirits come, this page highlights some Spirits not as well known in possession states. Often those who have not been in a human body for a while will be a bit disoriented and tend to examine the hands. Keeping in mind that different Spirits show different aspects when possessing different people, here are some of the characteristics of some of the Spirits who have visited us at the Universal Temple of Spirits:
Bridget: She talks and gave advice. Colors: dark blue, and orange or bronze.
Persephone: I've seen her "swooning". Showed bright yellow, black, blood red, and sea foam green.
Venus: Talks. Gave us a series of symbols. Has been known to do spontaneous healings on those she possesses. Colors: sea foam green and pink
Krishna: Colors: blues. Liked water. Liked earrings. Talked, but there was clearly a language barrier.
Hecate: Didn't talk. Ok to call her for Gatekeeper for services for the Dead. She wants nothing and needs nothing, but liked wine, chocolate, and coffee when offered. She gave us a design for her. She hadn’t been in a body for a while and was entranced with the possessee's hands.
Mami Wata: Got to the point. Asked direct questions. Didn’t take any nonsense. Stares intensely at a person.
Otter: Didn't seem to want to eat the foods we had (it's a mistake to eat all the fish before), but was interested in smelling and exploring. Didn't care for pears, bread, cookies. Liked water when offered. Didn’t speak.
Bear: If service is inside, do not take bear outside. Big presence. Bear.
Radha: Liked cake and lemonade. NO alcohol.
Kali: Didn’t show fully corporeally, but the experience was described as "a hooker heel up the ass and then being handed a cupcake."
Ganesha: He was very, very big!
Athena: She brought a candle over, holding her head to each of ours. She did not speak. Colors: grey
This isn’t "set in stone" but gives us an idea. The Spirits may show different sides to themselves in future possessions. Spirits may like some food or other because we happened to offer it to them. It doesn't mean it's necessarily their favorite.
